A new online home for the RIBA Journal, the monthly publication from the Royal Institute of British Architects. Established in 1893 it has the largest circulation of any architectural magazine in Britain.


Visual language
Launched in tandem with the redesign of the print publication, by the renowned magazine designer Matt Willey, the site uses refined typography and an elegant layout to create a strong visual language suited to its design-savvy readership.

Editorial vision
The new site translates the RIBA Journal’s editorial vision and builds on the print presence by broadening both editorial content and industry insight, enhancing the journal’s position as Britain's most influential architecture magazine.

Launched in tandem with the redesign of the print publication, by the renowned magazine designer Matt Willey, the site uses refined typography and an elegant layout to create a strong visual language suited to its design-savvy readership.
The new website launched in July 2014. In its first week, the site saw an increase in visits of 86% – including 66% in unique visits. Page views were up 204%, with the average visit duration up 150% and bounce rate down by 13%.
This was a new client and project and I ran all the strategy, creative direction, art direction and UX as well as the initial pitch. The success of the project has led to several further projects for RIBA.
